After graduating from the University of Newcastle in 2008 with a Bachelor of Oral Health, Helen was quickly employed and has gained significant experience as a dental hygienist. Her previous position was with a large regional practice in Armidale, NSW.
In addition to treatment, Helen is passionate about her work as a preventative oral health practitioner. She actively educates people about how they can manage and improve their own oral health. Helen applies a more holistic treatment approach so patients can understand the relationship between their mouth and their body and how one can impact the other. She imparts sufficient knowledge to patients so they can actively manage this relationship and either prevent or minimise oral disease. Empowering people with the skills to achieve better oral health forms a large part of Helen's dedication to preventative oral health care.
Helen acknowledges the stress some patients experience with dental visits but her caring nature puts patients at ease. All her patients get the same level of respect, dignity, empathy and attention. When not at work, Helen enjoys walking, music and photography.
