Crowns and Bridges
A Dental Crown is a “cap” which is fitted over an existing tooth to strengthen, restore or improve its appearance. In many cases, patients with insufficient tooth structure have crowns placed instead of a restoration. Additionally, we use crowns to strengthen a tooth in order to accommodate the attachment of a fixed bridge. Being made from either porcelain or composite resin crowns can be tailored to suit your existing tooth colour and to enhance a bright and natural smile.
For patients who have one or more teeth missing, we recommend a dental bridge. A bridge is a prosthetic device which is anchored to neighbouring teeth and replaces the missing tooth or teeth. When a lost tooth is replaced with bridgework, the teeth on either side of the missing tooth are prepared as crowns in order to hold the prosthetic in place. Dental Bridges provide an excellent solution to cover gaps between teeth and to enhance your smile
